Trevor earned a Master of Industrial Design (MID) degree from Pratt Institute and spent many years designing and manufacturing mountain bike parts that promoted growth in the emerging segments of downhill racing, dirt jumping, slalom racing and street riding akin to BMX freestyle. Having manufactured components and machine tools in the US, South Africa and Taiwan, ROC, Trevor knows that controlling overhead costs is essential and that cash flow is one key to life-or-death corporate agility in turbulent marketplaces. Trevor’s passion for energy savings and building efficiencies was ignited during his transformation of a former “big box store” building into a LEED-certified, high school for project-based learning and community involvement. Formerly a Director of Sales at IBM, Ed Combs is a solution-focused Senior Executive, Consultant, and Advisor with more than 40 years of success across the management consulting, information services & technology, and energy industries. His broad areas of expertise include leadership, team building, coaching & mentoring, business development, cloud computing, product launch, sales, marketing, financial management, analytics, fundraising, strategic planning, technology-based solutions, customer retention, and growth.

Ed’s career has remained devoted to executive selling and the integration of technology to reach efficiencies at scale in business ventures, partnerships, management, operation and growth. Having operated comprehensive middle and high schools for school districts nationwide, Ed knows by experience the impact of business process, operational costs, customer solicitation and satisfaction and cashflow.

Ed has written and scored district approval for several charter and magnet schools, typically in older buildings that were absolute energy hogs! Drawing from years of experience, Ed leveraged state-of-the-art technology solutions to remediate and accelerate student achievement, establish and retain student engagement, sustain profitability and manage campuses with only a fraction of the per-student allotment enjoyed by regular public schools and union teachers in each district.

Always looking forward, Ed sees a promising future as afforded by the Internet of Things and is charged by the advent of digital products that work together to save energy, make money go further, improve quality of life and most newly, protect life itself through education, behavior modification and instant, mass notification.

Ed obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Government, and Economics from the California State University at Los Angeles. He is now serving as the Director, Frederick Community College Foundation, a Chairman for the Fairhaven United Methodist Church Trustees, and was a past Director on the BB&T Advisory Board.
