Currently, there are 571,926 coding jobs open in the US. Coding jobs span all industries. Opportunities are projected to keep growing, as technology continues to disrupt practices and digital interconnectivity of societies increases. More and more customers are served via smartphone apps, in all sorts of commerce. Employment opportunities in computer science, coding and cybersecurity are expected to grow at twice the rate of all other jobs.
SIC provides coding camps to enable large numbers of people acquire these i demand skills. The coding camps use a blended classroom approach. The course content is fully web-based, with students writing and running code in the browser. Each unit of the course is broken down into lessons. Lessons consist of video tutorials, short quizzes, example programs to explore and written programming exercises- adding up to over 100 hours of hands-on programming practice in total. Each unit ends with a comprehensive unit test that assesses student mastery of the material. Students completing the course will:
- have learned the equivalent of a college computer science course
- be functional in the language studied
- have a portfolio of their work to present to employers
- be immediately productive from their first day on the job
